Kaija's atelier

I have a big house. I live and work here. I've got many things which I like and which I don't like. Some have been with me all my life, some I have got and some have just drifted here from my father. He built this house. He is a sculptor and he was looking for a place where he can live, work and also cast bronze. Soon he found a piece of land and started to make plans with his friend Aulis Bolmstedt, who was a famous architect. My father had some ideas and Aulis designed the house which was drawn by one of his students. It was late fifties and early sixties.

I got this place from my father and have lived here for 10 years. Now it's time to make a decision whether to stay here or move to the countryside. There's another house there but it's another story and more about that later on.

It is a hard decision. I have become "home blind" about my surroundings and I want to see this house like somebody who's never been here before. So I started this blog to clear my mind. I will take pics and write in english because it's difficult for me and so I have to use simple words and limited vocabulary to express myself. That way my thinking isn't too complicated which it usually is. So if You like, you can join me and have a look at my house with me...
