coming closer and closer
Last 10 years I've put up a fashion show once a year with my miniatures. The material, ideas and themas are variating but the show is always the same: these little figures are standing on the cat walk one after an other like in the real fashion events.
I did the shows as a fashion editor more than 20 years in Paris, Milan, sometimes also London and New York, so now it's time to have a little fun.
This year I came up to make coloful, happy look. Lots of prints and lots of hemline and flouting "fabrics".
None of my miniatures are ready yet, but I'm sure all will be tip top until 2.7, when we have the vernissage.
It's happening here, in my country house in the old corn barn. We have this year the 100 years anniversary!
So, look what I have done so far.
First I made a figure from clay, then I cast it in cips. Next step is the most important, to make an outfit of linen or cotton. After it I handle it with glue and cips.
It takesa while to let the dress to dry and then I can start to color it. Last year I had all white.
I use watercolors because I love the lightnes and a certain transparency of them.
I found my father's old cavalet and find it very well working still. It's fasinating to use the same tools as he did.
My messy desk; there is no time to keep things in order, cips is drying so fast that you need to hurry before it's stucks.
After coloring I need to finish the miniatures with verniss and cold,
Little Vili always want to keep me company, Jeppe prefers to play outside.
